Entry into the course

There are no academic entry requirements for this qualification. Students are required to provide their Unique Student Identifier (USI) which we can assist with, photo identification and meet the language, literacy and numeracy requirements..

Course Overview

This Nationally Accredited Diploma in community Services, will provide you with the knowledge to advance your career, focusing on Management, mental and so much more.

Graduates are equipped to work autonomously, deliver specialized support, and manage programs or staff within the social services sector. When you enrol into this course, you will gain the knowledge to advance your career:

  • Support individuals and families through complex personal and social challenges
  • Empower clients to achieve meaningful personal, social, and community goals
  • Apply professional skills and knowledge in real-world community services settings
Government Funding Information

To access a subsidised training place under Career Boost, a student must meet the following criteria:

  •  must be an Existing Worker in the Community Services and Health industry, which includes parents and unpaid carers of NDIS participants 
  • aged 15 years or older;
  • not be a school student;
  • permanently reside in Queensland;
  • be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen;
  • not already have a certificate IV or higher qualification completed within the last 10 years (qualifications completed as a school student and foundation skills qualifications do not count);
  • not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred, whether funded by DTET or not (foundation skills qualifications do not count).
Course Delivery

This course offers two full-time study options, both providing the same interactive learning experience:

  1. Face-to-Face Learning – Attend classes in person at our campus, engaging in hands-on training, practical sessions, and collaborative learning.

  2. Virtual Classroom (Online Attendance) – For students who live too far from our campus, we offer the option to join the same live, face-to-face class virtually. You’ll interact with trainers and classmates in real time, participate in discussions, and complete all coursework remotely. Please note that eligibility criteria apply for this option.

Both delivery modes include classroom-based instruction, practical sessions, research and project work, plus work placement. We use a variety of assessment methods, including role plays, written assessments, skills demonstrations, projects, presentations, training records, and work samples.

Duration and Study Load

The course spans 31 weeks in total, comprising 31 weeks of classroom learning and 4 weeks of work placement.

Class Times:

  • Monday to Wednesday

  • 5:00pm to 9:00pm

These class times apply to both on-campus students and those attending virtual online classes.

This structure ensures a balanced combination of in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on experience to prepare you for your future career.

Before you enquire, please check that this course is right for you:
  1. You must be an Australian citizen or resident. We cannot accept enrolments from International Student Visa holders (Subclass 500).
  2. Training is conducted during evening sessions. Classes are Monday to Wednesday, 5:00 pm – 9:00 PM. If you have work or other commitments, you must be available full-time.
  3.  You must be already working in Community Services or Health to access government funding for this course. If you are not, the course would be self-funded.
